Maratha Reservation protest was started in 1982 led by led by then Mathadi Kamgar Labour Union leader Annasaheb Patil. Later Maratha Kranti Morcha (MKM) protests began after the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl in Kopardi village, Maharashtra, on July 13, 2016.
Who is Manoj Jarange Patil?
Manoj Jarange-Patil, originally from Beed, now lives in Shahgad, Jalna, post-marriage.
For 15 years, he’s been active in the Maratha reservation movement for jobs and education. Participating in marches, he even sold 2.5 acres of land.
Formerly with Congress, he founded Shivba Sanghatana for Maratha protests. Despite the 2021 Supreme Court ruling against Maratha reservation, Jarange-Patil continued protests, notably a three-month agitation in Sasht-Pimpalgaon, Jalna. Join his efforts for justice!
Maratha Reservation Main 5 Demands by Jarange Patil and Maratha Samaj
Jarange patil proposed few demands in front of Maharashtra Government to approve for Maratha Samaj. Below mentioned are the main demands:
- An ordinance to issue Kunbi certificates to all blood relatives of 57 lakh Marathas with Kunbi cast certificate for all of them.
- Free KG(Kindergarten) to PG(Post Graduate) education for Maratha boys and girls.
- Allowing the (retired justice) Sandeep Shinde committee to continue to work for a year.
- No recruitment on Government Job without Maratha quota.
- Withdrawal of all the Criminal cases registered against them during protests held for Maratha reservation in the past.
Jarange Patil urged the Maratha community to unite until all their demands are implemented by the Maharashtra Government.
