A magnitude 3.8 earthquake shook the Ontario area just before midnight on Thursday. The quake, which occurred at 11:38 p.m., was centered 2 miles east-southeast of Ontario and had a depth of about 8 miles, according to the USGS.
Residents in Los Angeles, parts of Orange County, and in Redlands likely felt the shaking, according to USGS maps.
This earthquake comes just a week after a 4.6 magnitude quake centered in Malibu rattled the region.
Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of damage from this latest quake.
Hundreds of earthquakes are recorded in California each year, with most being minor. However, dozens measure over 3.0 magnitude.
